{"title":"Cisteller","description":"\u003cp\u003eIn 2019, Jessica and Sergi built their first winery in Sergi’s family vineyards in Penedès, planted on what he calls the “Mountain land that nobody wanted.” These remote plots, far from the more commercialized, high-yielding vineyards of the region, revealed soils that amazed them: low pH, rich limestone, and soft marls reminiscent of Chablis and select parts of Champagne, offering the potential to craft exceptional wines. Over three experimental harvests, they realized that sparkling wine was essential to their vision, alongside still wines. They were also clear on the style of sparkling wines they did not want to make, focusing instead on authenticity, balance, and expression of the land. In 2024, Cisteller became the thirteenth member of Corpinnat, a society now comprising 21 wineries committed to quality over typicity. This milestone marked a turning point: they embraced a responsibility to their vineyards, their craft, and the ethos of a movement elevating Spain’s sparkling wines.
