It is fed by the Magro river, which builds the alluvial terraces upon which sits \"La Vega\", a prime location for vineyards. The stony soils are rich in limestone and clay, which results in the vines producing low yields of high quality grapes. The climate is Mediterranean with marked continental characteristics due to its altitude and distance from the sea: long and cold winters, short summers, low rainfall and abundant sunshine.
