Family Selection Single Vineyard Shiraz

In 2019, exceptional winter rainfall gave us a full soil moisture profiles and budburst occurred on par with long term averages with very solid early shoot growth. Mid December through to the early March was extremely dry with virtually no rainfall. The mild days and cool nights in late February and early March aided in the final ripen creating strong varietal characters and crisp natural acids. The wine is aged in new seasoned French Oak hogsheads for 34 months.

Deep crimson red in colour, the wine shows lifted aromas of dark cherry and blue fruits, with undertones of stewed fruit, mulberry and satsuma plum, supported by charry French oak. The palate is medium- to full-bodied, with powerful notes of spice, pepper and sumac, framed by fine, powdery tannins that lead to a dry finish complementing the dark fruit profile.
