[Style/Color: Red] [Dryness: Dry]

[Variety: Nebbiolo]

Presented for the first time with 2015 vintage – 30 years after Ornato first release – Barolo Mosconi express the power of the calcareous and marly soils of this region but also soft and harmonious tannins, with spicy and floral nose and delicate and charming tones, due to the high elevation of this vineyard. Unique, like its long ageing potential. Produced in very small quantity every year, since 2015.

Enchanted since long time by the very particular terror of Monforte d’Alba village, in 2014 the Pio family finally completed the acquisition of vineyards in the most historical portion of “Mosconi” appellation, where they are still managing to grow very old Nebbiolo vines, used mainly to produce Barolo Mosconi.

Fermentation and long maceration on the skins in stainless steel tanks. Long ageing in big barrels of French and Eastern Europe oak for nearly 24 months and for a small amount in French oak barriques. Long bottle ageing before release to increase drinkability.
