Colección Historica Primera Edición is a special, limited release of aged, mature wines from the historic cellars of Bodegas Ollauri-Conde de los Andes in Rioja, Spain. These bottles are part of a curated "library" collection, representing vintages that have been stored for decades in the winery's traditional underground caves
Handpicked during October, the grapes were fermented for 25 days in stainless steel tanks, undergoing periodic racking and pumping over to enhance extraction and color intensity. The wine was then aged for 24 months in a combination of French and American oak barrels.
Thanks to the ripeness of the grapes from a warm vintage, the wine shows a shiny cherry red color with a pronounced brick-red rim. The nose is complex, deep and enveloping, reflecting the grapes at harvest with aromas of black fruits such as blackcurrant and blackberry, alongside herbaceous hints of Mediterranean scrubland. Secondary notes from oak maturation add vanilla, clove and cedar, while bottle aging contributes subtle tobacco and caramel nuances. On the palate, the wine is smooth and velvety, structured and complex, with a perfect balance of acidity, body and intensity. The finish is long, powerful and surprisingly persistent.
