Maturana Tinta

Maturana tinta de Navarrete or Navarreteña is a minority in Rioja and it was recovered from old vineyards in Navarrete.

This wine comes from a small vineyard in Navarrete, with a total of 480 vines. Planted in 2014. Red clay and iron soil on alluvial subsoil. 550 m of altitude. SE oriented. Organic farming

Hand picking in 18 kg cages. Destemmed, not crushed. Spontaneous fermentation in a 400L clay amphora made with clay of Navarrete. Malolactic fermentation and 15 months of aging in the amphora and one oak barrel.

Deep ruby red colour. Very mineral on the nose, with hints of violets, aromas of spices followed by fruity aromas of blueberries. A very well balanced wine with a fresh acitidy, full of flavours and silky tannins. Earthy and spicy after taste.
