MARKO Terlegiz is Oxer’s most edgy, crunchy, mineral expression of a Bizkaiko Txakolina. The most strictly selected grapes from slate soils, fermented in foudres, with 6 months lee contact, result in a most expressive age-worthy wine that is meant to keep for eternity.
The meaning of the Basque word Terlegiz is sanctuary for bees. Also is it the name of the neighbourhood where Oxer’s father was born and where the vineyards are located.
After whole bunch pressing, the wine ferments 100% in foudres, using indigenous yeast. After fermentation the wine remains 6 months in contact with the lees.
Marko Terlegiz shows aroma ́s of loquat, yellow apple and orange blossom. On the palate complemented with herbal notes and pomelo peel. The vibrant acidity together with the richness from the lees give this wine an incredible structure. The finish is long, expressive and mineral.
