PIETRARIZZO Etna Bianco DOC

"Contrada Pietrarizzo" is located in the municipality of Castiglione di Sicilia, on the northern slope of Mount Etna, at an altitude ranging between 650 and 700 meters above sea level. The soil is volcanic-rocky, composed of volcanic and magmatic rocks, the result of the disintegration of the lava flow of 1908.

Grapes harvested by hand in small boxes are brought quickly to the canti- na where they undergo manual selection on a belt. De-stemmed and lightly crushed they arrive at the press where they are softly pressed. The resulting must is cold clarified and placed to ferment at a temperature of 15/16°C in 50 hl oak barrels. After fermentation is finished, the resulting wine rests on the fine lees for about five months.

Intense straw yellow with faint greenish reflections at the sight; pleasant hints of exotic fruit and especially grapefruit and white peach mark the nose of this wine, which shows its true identity on the palate with a very pleasant savoriness and freshness complemented by an extraordinary complexity and sweetness of taste.
