Joven Rioja Alavesa

A tribute to our history. The most traditional wine. Made by our family for generations in Rioja Alavesa. A smooth wine, ideal as an aperitif and for lighter meals.

Made using the traditional carbonic maceration method (with the stems), this wine can be also called a “Primer” (first) as it is the first wine of the year that is released. The grape harvest is carried out by hand in the winery's own vineyard. Whole bunches of grapes including the stem are put in to a stainless steel vat. Fermentation is carried out at a controlled temperature.

Bright cherry red in colour with an attractive violet rim, the wine shows intense aromas of fresh fruit, typical of carbonic maceration, with notes of strawberry and raspberry, alongside hints of violet and subtle liquorice. The palate is smooth on entry, developing into a vibrant and expressive profile with pronounced fruit and a touch of spicy liquorice on the finish.
