A very hot summer led to fruit with ripe and complex flavours.
After a period of drying, the juice was pressed of its skins. Post fermentation, the wine was aged for 18 months in a combination of French and American oak 35% of which was new. Partial appassimento Cabernet Franc grapes was added in this blend.
The nose shows intense youthful aromas of raspberry, ripe dark cherry and currant. The palate is ripe with notes of tart raspberries and cherries, and gentle notes of vanilla, cloves and baking spice.
