VINA EL FLAKO Blanco Rioja Alavesa

Complex and elegant. The most expressive out of all of our white wines, every care is given to our Malvasía grapes that come from vineyards which were planted by our Grandparents Librado and Fermín. The five months that the wine spends in a new oak barrel gives it great complexity and ripeness which makes the wine prefect to pair with any dish.

The grapes are selected and harvested by hand. They are then pressed lightly and the grape juice is submitted to a rigorous settling process. The fermentation is carried out inside new French oak barrels. The ageing takes place in the presence of the lees for 5 months in the same barrels and battonage is carried out every week.

Yellow in colour with green highlights, the wine is clean and bright. The nose shows floral notes and sweet fruit, with hints of pear, grapefruit skin and vanilla. The palate is velvety with good volume, balanced by fresh acidity and citrus notes of grapefruit and mandarin, leading to a long, silky finish.
