Collection: Gut Hermannsberg

The history of the estate dates back over 100 years when it was established as the Royal Prussian Wine Domain. Two-thirds of our vineyards were created from land, that was previously only scrub, rocks and an abandoned copper mine. To this day they remain works of civil engineering. In 1998 the estate was privatized by the state of Rheinland-Pfalz and in 2009 the Reidel family purchased it. Today, Gut Hermannsberg is home to 30 hectares of vineyards, all fully classified by the VDP as VDP.GROSSE LAGE or “Grand Cru”. Planted almost exclusively with Riesling, these vineyards span 7 unique terroirs, each imparting its own character to the wines. As a result, each of our dry GG wines, village wines expresses a distinctive aroma and flavor profile. A new definition of quality and a new philosophy interpretation of the great tradition of Gut Hermannsberg, focused on dry whites instead of the sweet masterpieces of the past.
