Hendry Ranch Winery is a distinguished, family-owned estate in Napa Valley, California, farming the same land since 1939. Originally a multi-use farm with prunes and walnuts, the ranch transitioned to viticulture in the 1970s under George Hendry, who began selling grapes to notable producers like Robert Mondavi. George, a particle physicist by training, eventually launched the family’s own label, producing his first vintage in 1992 and establishing the winery in 2000. The estate is located in the foothills of the Mayacamas Mountains, the 203 acre property features 114 acres under vine. They are one mile from the Carneros growing region to the south, and adjacent to the Mount Veeder appellation, just within the western border of the Oak Knoll viticultural area. Their vineyard represents a transitional climate zone between the southern regions of the Napa Valley which are closer to the cooling influences of the San Francisco bay, and the northern areas.
