Collection: Hermanos Frias del Val

The winery was founded in 1969, thanks to the efforts of Dad, Vicente, his brother Fernando, and the encouragement provided by Mum Loli. All that they had learned was transmitted and the vineyards planted by their grandparents were looked after. Wine-making in Rioja Alavesa has been carried out by the family for the past four generations. A total of 35 hectares of vineyards are owned and managed, distributed among 90 different plots, adding complexity to the wines. Vines over a century old are located in various villages in the heart of Rioja Alavesa, such as Elciego, Navaridas, Leza, Samaniego, and Villabuena de Álava, where the majority of the vineyard is situated no more than 2.5 km from the winery. This proximity allows harvesting to be completed in the shortest period of time, ensuring that the grapes arrive at the facility in optimal condition. The wine is treated with the maximum love and respect so that it can travel through time. Nature is respected with utmost care, which is why the goblet or “vaso” bush vine system is exclusively used, and only organic compost is applied.
